Nail Art: Blue Chevron Tips

Hey y'all! I just have a short post for you today - to show you the nail art I've been wearing this week! Blue has to be one of my favourite colours, and it probably makes up the largest portion of my nail polish collection. I haven't worn blue polish in a while, and I wanted to try out a look I'd seen a co-worker wearing in a different colour scheme - though she has much longer almond-shaped nails that I am rather envious of!

For this look I used two coats of Nails Inc's Sheraton Street, then I drew on the tips using a small nail art brush and Barry M's Navy. Navy is actually slightly shimmery which gave this mani a little extra sparkle in the sunlight, but sadly I wasn't able to get any photographs of that! This was a really easy design to create and I really enjoyed wearing it. Stay tuned for another nail art post hopefully in the near future! Have a good weekend!

OPI: Suzi's Hungary Again

Good evening! Today I have one new polish to show you, which I've coupled with one that I've shown you before a while back! I picked up OPI's Suzi's Hungary Again recently for a really good price and I couldn't wait to try it out! It's from the Euro Centrale collection and is a 'Barbie pink' shade, with very subtle shimmer. This polish really reminds me of OPI's Are We There Yet? from the same collection, but this is the true pink counterpart of the more coral-y Are We There Yet?. The formula was also pretty similar, with three thin coats needed for opacity and streak-free coverage. The subtle shimmer is visible in the bottle in sunlight, but is hard to notice on the nail even in sunligh; I would prefer it to be more visible but I adore the colour of this polish! I don't have a lot of pinks and I don't automatically reach for them, but I'd been looking for a new pink that I could really get some use out of and I think I found it in Suzi's Hungary Again

I paired it with Belle by The Hungry Asian, as the pink and brown glitters really seem to compliment the pink polish and this manicure screams Spring! I even got to sit in the garden in the Sun for the first time in months while I painted my nails! Glorious. But without further ado, I shall show you these polishes:

There's some shimmer visible on my pinky nail here!

OPI: I Snow You Love Me

Good evening! So, it's no secret that I adore OPI nail polishes, they are in fact fantastic. And the recent collections have been so stunning I've lusted after every polish from the Winter and Brazil collections! I'm not in a position to buy all of these however, but hope to get my hands on a few over time! A couple of days ago though, a wonderful lady gifted me a bottle of I Snow You Love Me from the winter collection. This is my first OPI glitter, and consists of large, silver circular glitters in a clear base:

Barry M: Silk Collection

Howdy! I feel awful that I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks now, I know I keep making excuses but it really has been hectic the past two weeks as I've had three PhD interviews and started a new job, and already been moved departments in that new job! I was super-excited about the new Barry M Silk Polishes which came out on 12th Feb, one of which I used in my Valentines nails in my last post. I got these when they were brand new out and couldn't wait to review them for you so I'm annoyed that it's taken me this long!

But... better late than never! I chose my three favourite colours from the six in this collection, Blossom (pink), Pearl (white) and Meadow (green):

Nail Art: Valentine's Day

So it's that time of year again where you can't set foot in a shopping centre, or browse the internet, without being bombarded with red hearts, endless shades of pink, and teddy bears of giant proportions! I've never really celebrated Valentine's Day properly, although my other half and I have been together for four years now. We hate going out to dinner and being surrounded by soppy lovey-dovey couples and PDAs! But the simple fact is, I do actually like the idea of Valentine's Day. A day to celebrate having found someone special and being in love (although I do agree that you shouldn't need just one day of the year to show how much you love someone!). I am also a hopeless romantic. My boyfriend doesn't seem to realise quite how easy it is to win me over - a bunch of flowers, a bottle of nail polish... ah yes, nail polish. Best stop rambling and get back to it!

I'll first show you my "love letter" style Valentine's manicure and then I'll tell you the polishes I used and how I created it:

Bloglovin'

Hey y'all! I've recently entered the wonderful world of Bloglovin'! If you like my blog, feel free to follow me on Bloglovin' at the link below!

PS. I also have facebook and twitter and love to chat so feel free to head over and say Hi! Links are at the panel on the right :)

Layla: Mercury Twilight

Howdy! Finally after a couple of months of regularly being unable to type anything on my laptop, I have replaced the keyboard! That's now the battery and the keyboard replaced; but still a lot saved compared to buying a new one! I did get this laptop when I was living in the States, so it had a US keyboard; but now i'm in the UK, I need to get used to using a UK layout again! Plus my laptop was a limited edition blue and white colour scheme, and you can't get the right colour keyboard so my white and blue laptop has a black keyboard! Grr. But...it functions.

Anyhow. Onto the nail polish! Today I'm wearing one of Layla's Holographic Collection, called Mercury Twilight. Mercury Twilight is a silver holographic polish. I'll show you my snaps and then tell you my thoughts below! :)

Nails Inc: The London Collection

Howdy! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent mine hanging out with my lovely boyfriend, watching films, having dinner out etc. which was a welcome relief from job hunting and interviews! I also managed to find time to swatch a collection by Nails Inc that I've been wanting to show y'all! The London Collection features six full-sized creme polishes, and four mini special effects polishes. This is a great collection because there's a wide range of colours from brights to nudes plus some amazing toppers!

I'll start off by showing you the six creme polishes:

Indie - The Hungry Asian: Bar Fight

TGIF! Good evening all! I'm currently waiting for my boyfriend to come visit for the weekend, so I thought I'd share with you the nail polish I've been wearing the past couple of days while I wait!

I've reviewed this polish before alongside a couple of others by The Hungry Asian before (you can read that review here), but I was looking back at the photos and I'm super-disappointed with them, plus I didn't apply it as well as I could've done and my nails were an awful shape! So after criticising my previous swatches, I've taken a couple more photos of this beauty to show you quickly. This polish is black with tiny blue round glitters, and is opaque in 2-3 coats. It's really easy to apply nicely and I had no problems with it all, it's an all-round super polish! Next time I wear the other polishes I own by The Hungry Asian, I'll upload some more photos of those too, to do them justice!

Barry M: Peach Melba & Maybelline: Bronze Me Up

So today's blog post is a double whammy! I was out picking up a few essentials in town, and I just couldn't resist picking up one new nail polish by Barry M, as they're so reasonably priced but still uh-mazing! Another bonus though, is that I usually don't manage to show anything from a brand new collection on here, as I can't usually afford to splash out... but today I have a gorgeous polish from Maybelline's new Stripped Nude collection. This collection comprises two nude coloured polishes, and two glitter top coats. The one which really stood out to me was a bronze glitter, and I just had to get it! Plus, it perfectly compliments the Barry M shade I picked up - I've been really fed up with this awful weather we've been having in the UK, and I wanted to brighten up my nails with something really summery... so I chose peach!

First up is Barry M's Peach Melba:
